We're ok. Had a really busy weekend. On Friday night I met my work colleagues and boss for dinner as I now won't be going back to work. It was so nice to be out in normal world and enjoying a meal and gossip with folks. Then this weekend, we really de-cluttered and reorganised the house. It has needed doing since we moved last year (you know the deal - you move somewhere new and you just put the stuff wherever you can because you're sick of boxes!!) and we are both starting to get the motivation to do it. The nursery is all done and ready and looks so, so beautiful, our guest room is ready for visitors and most of the house is clean. It's satisfying.
I have an obstetrician's app this afternoon to find out if the placenta and umbilical cord are still blocking the baby's exit route. Fingers crossed please because if it's moved, we're on for a water birth as I've really been hoping for some time. If it hasn't, then we'll be discussing the c-section option. :smt022
This may be hard to believe, and maybe shows that I'm a little naive about the whole 'labour' thing, but I'm actually more scared of having to have a needle in my back for an epidural or c-section spinal than I am of labour itself.
Thank you for that Phil. I'm not a mum yet, so the jury is still out on that!!

Em...
Believe it or not, your response about the needle is very, very common.
Two of my girlfriends, had their babies without the epidural for the same reason...I will tell you they were begging for it when it got too late.
I got it. I highly suggest it. No big deal...I was sitting up bent forward, and having a contraction while it was being done. It's not a needle...the only needle you receive, is to numb the area, before they thread a line in.
Within about 20mins, you feel great. You feel your contractions, but they feel like waves....and you can see them on the monitor...it also puts you in a very pleasant mood. You're not "out of it", where you can't remember anything... not like that. But you feel very calm, relaxed...and if you're having a long labor, you can fall asleep for a little..
I am glad you got out and did some socializing....and gettting organized always feels wonderful. My prayer for you is that you have an easy delivery, that little angel gives mommy and daddy a loud cry, and things go just as your heart desires. All the best.

Em...I had a spinal too, when I had surgery. It wasn't bad.
You will be fine.
