Sugar Detox/Withdrawal...

For about the past 4-5 days, I haven't been eating any sugar or white bread, pasta, etc.  I have to do this for 14 days.

The sugar isn't the difficult part...I use Splenda anyway, and Arizona sugar free Green Tea...sugar free energy drinks, etc.

It's the not eating carbs....like bread and pasta.  I messed up yesterday....but Im back on track.  White bread, carbs etc process into sugar anyway. You might as well eat a piece of cake if your're going to eat white bread, white rice, etc.  No fruit either or starchy veg's....no corn, potatoes, peas. (for 14 days...then in controlled amts when you look the way you want to)

It doesn't feel good....I dream Im at the refrigerator, eating either choc cake or cheesecake, and smearing it all over my face.... I sit up, touch my face, and feel dread.  After 14 days, I won't  care anymore.  The changes in your body are unbelilevable....you look how you're meant to look.  Not emaciated, slender. You don't lose your butt, etc.  I've done this before, and it was very effective, and happens quickly.  You have to continue longer than 14 days, but slowly add the right carbs, 5gms, at a time.  Whole grain bread, berries, etc.

You can eat as much as you want, that's the great part....being that you can eat fat...olive oil, butter, regular mayo you're not starving...NOTHING FAT FREE...it has alot of sugar in it.

When you get where you want, you won't want to eat sugar, or white bread, etc.

If Im crabby for the next 2 wks, this is why.  You have to take supplements, vits, and exercise....if anyone out there wants to lose some weight, and look toned, not emaciated...give it a try.  It's The Atkin's Diet.

A saving grace when you crave sugar is slim fast shakes.  Pour a can in the blender, add cream, (that you put in coffee, yes it's acceptable) splenda and ice cubes...it tastes just like a thick milkshake and gets you through craving sweets.

So...here I go.

Wow sounds like fun.... !

Hope it works for you and you get to where you want to be, Ive never been on a diet so dont really understand the cravings. I just run on the treadmil each day 5miles then about 45mins on the weights ..

GOOD LUCK SHERRI,

Best of luck! I remember my sis doing the Atkins. Has some lovely side effects!!

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of diets as cutting stuff out only makes you want it more, but can appreciate why people do them. I don't eat white rice or bread anyway (brown rice is the way to go - tastes WAY better!) and as I'm much more of a grazer, I tend to buy things I can pick at easily without having to do too much. Grapes, carrot sticks, celery and peanut butter (yes, together!! Yum yum!!) low fat crisps and dip. I don't deprive myself of anything and if I want to eat a whole cheesecake, then I will, but I also make sure that I just walk the dogs an extra 30 mins for a week if I do (well, obviously not any more!).

But it took a mind-set change to get into those habits (plus gaining weight while my stick-insect husband stayed the same!) and some days I do have to work hard to eat well, especially now when all I want is 4 mars bars dipped in a chocolate fondue!

Admittedly, my 'crash diet' of extreme morning sickness will probably help me to lose my baby weight quickly. Fingers crossed anyway!

Good luck Sherri!

Em...you cant do this while pregnant!!!!!  Or if you're diabetic.

The results are amazing...you look ripped, but not sickly.  Ike, you have a few factors on your side...your male and young.

BUT...you have to eat a certain diet.  You cant achieve the result you want if you don't.  It depends what your goals are..do you want to build up??  Then you eat carbs....no fat.  Plain potatoes...boiled or baked...alot of protein....chicken, tuna, etc. I was married to a competative body builder the stuff he ate gagged me...tuna with mustard....YUCK....but, you can add spices to that stuff...eat pasta too if you want to get bigger...firm, but bigger.

If you want to get ripped....HI  PROTEIN Low carb....whole grains, nothing white...and NO SUGAR, and take it easy on salt.  A six pack has nothing to do with sit ups, it's diet.

I just find Atkins works for me, I can eat as much as I want...of the right stuff...it's just difficult cutting out carbs....I really do dream Im eating them...and my heart races.

When I  was really disciplined,  the transition was amazing.  I didn't weigh myself.  I had a  pair of pants I tried on every week.  At first they were skin tight...then, when I could zipper and button them, I thought that was great....Then one day, I  put them on and they fell off....with the zipper up and the button closed.

I just have to hang on for 14 days....then I won't care.

Phil....give it a try.  You will be amazed....it really works, I did it.

This is the best time of the year to do it...winter.  You can cover up with clothes....by spring/summer....actually way sooner, you're going to LOVE the way you look.

Im not obese...just not liking how I look.  I know what I can look like.  I feel good that way...and I keep my butt too!!!  I like to wear cut off Levi's and not feel self conscious.  Clothes shopping is fun again.

Will report results in a few weeks....

Good for you, You sure have the right plan and i really hope it works in the way you want it too and by the sounds of it you have done it before and it worked well..

Me, I have a 6pack but keeping it is hard sometimes, I have a pic on the wall to keep me going, It was from a few years ago when i looked good and ripped but not over the top. When i first was ill when i was having fits almost everyday i lost so much weight and the muscle waisted away, After that was when Ch started and i didnt give a shit how i looked i just wanted to die.

I then over ate and went from a skinny 7stone and looked ill to about 10stone, Ive now got it going again quite well and i look normal again but id like to be bigger, Not too much bigger as im small but in the arms would be nice and a stomach that i had would be cool... Ill get there.

I only run to keep fit, I figured i drink way to many red bulls and smoke so i do it to keep on top of things really. I will stop smoking ..... not sure my nerves could cope right now though.

Keep it up im rooting for you

It is hard....it's constant discipline.  As I said bugger you...men have it easier.

WEIGHT TRAINING IS A MUST.  But your diet is even more important.  I swear a 6 pack is ALL DIET.  You lean out and it shows your muscles...Im lucky to have that line down the middle of my stomach....but I have to be disciplined.

It all depends what your goal is.  A six pack looks hot....and I love that thing guys get near their hip bones.  Im sure you look great already.

****NO SUGAR!!!!!!  It destroys your goal...and easy on salt.  Use Splenda....
