Today is a sad anniversaryMy best friend from age 10 and exbrotherinlaw has been dead 25 years today . He has been dead now 3 years more than we were actually living friends . It doesn't seem possible . His son , my 1st nephew will be 41 in December. I have gotten so old , these things make less sense to me over time . It seems like 2 years ago we were sailing together .... and then it seems like 50 years ago ...................... I guess since I recently reconnected with my nephew, this anniversary is more in focus . Damn I still miss him . Laura's mom also passed away on this day 13 years ago . Her mom was the mother to me I never had . Laura will have an emotional day to be sure ..... If you think about it .... if you live long enough you accumulate more and more grief dates............ not all of them are immediately apparent . I sure don't want to look for the one's that aren't.......................... Happy note for the day.................. I'm meeting with a mysterious and beautiful woman today for lunch.... all of the makings of scenes out of an old black and white suspense thriller . Ah , to dream !  And it stopped rainning !

I understand what you're saying....completely. It never gets easier, the person never leaves your heart...then there's a smell, a sound, a song...and it brings it all back as if it just happened....

Damn one hell of a day then huh, I hope it passes without to much sorrow.
Focus on the good stuff about today and the good memories..

Thanks for the concern Ike ....I had a great day . I can't tell who the woman was due to confidentiality . It was a professional lunch . I can tell you that she certainly one of the most beautiful and engaging woman I've ever met . Model or such seen in commercials . I've never seen her in one . But she's a stunner. I had a great time and was as brillant professionally , as she was stunningly beautiful and intelligent. This was apparently a one visit question and answer sessions about resources appropriate for a family member . There will not be another meeting ............But this was the best day I've had in a long time........ Wait , I don't think I felt depressed at any time today . I also remained pain free . A little tired from no sleep last night..........but no pain . Great day ! A once in a lifetime joyous afternoon .
